Version:
1.1
Last Updated:

Welcome to Tightknit. These Terms govern your use of a community that runs on Tightknit (a “Tightknit Community”). They apply to end users (community members). For administrator and customer terms, see tightknit.ai/legal/terms-of-service.
1. Relationship with Tightknit
By accessing or using a Tightknit Community, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Tightknit.
Tightknit provides the technology platform. Each community’s administrators (“Admins”) set their own rules and moderate content. Admins may remove content or restrict access consistent with their rules and applicable law. Tightknit is not responsible for how Admins enforce community rules.
2. Accounts and Access
You sign in through Slack. Access depends on workspace authorization and your community membership or permissions.
Keep your credentials secure and comply with your organization’s policies.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, violate community rules, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, communities, or Tightknit.
3. Content and License
You retain ownership of the content you submit.
You grant Tightknit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your content solely to operate and improve Tightknit Communities (including syncing with Slack and rendering companion pages).
This license ends when your content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup and archival retention.
4. Community Rules
You agree to follow both (a) applicable law and (b) the rules of each community you join. Prohibited behavior includes, without limitation:
Posting or sharing illegal content
Harassment, threats, or doxxing
Spam or unauthorized solicitation
Security abuses or attempts to circumvent access controls
Admins—not Tightknit—are responsible for enforcing community-specific rules.
5. Acceptable Use and Safety
Do not access or use data you are not authorized to view.
Do not interfere with Tightknit’s operation or attempt to reverse engineer, disable, or circumvent security measures.
Report vulnerabilities responsibly to [email protected].
6. Privacy and Data Use
Our collection and use of personal data, including Slack workspace information and community activity, is described in our Privacy Policy. In summary:
Tightknit does not access private Slack direct messages unless explicitly connected by your workspace.
Data is stored only as long as necessary to operate the service and is deleted if a workspace disconnects or requests removal, subject to backup retention.
Tightknit undergoes independent audits (including SOC 2 and ISO 27001) to safeguard data.
7. Intellectual Property
Respect others’ intellectual property rights. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact the relevant community Admins or email [email protected]. Tightknit may remove or disable content upon proper notice.
8. Third-Party Services (Slack)
Tightknit integrates with Slack. Your use of Slack is subject to Slack’s own terms and policies. Workspace Admins control the scope of data shared with Tightknit.
9. Disclaimers
Tightknit is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tightknit disclaims all warranties, express or implied. Tightknit is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tightknit, its affiliates, and their employees, officers, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content, conduct, or use of a Tightknit Community.
11. Termination
You may stop using Tightknit at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, community rules, applicable law, or if we reasonably believe termination is necessary to protect users, communities, or Tightknit.
Certain provisions (including those on intellectual property, indemnification, disclaimers, and dispute resolution) survive termination.
12. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Tightknit Communities.
13. Commercial Use
You may not use Tightknit Communities for advertising, solicitation, or other commercial purposes unless explicitly permitted by the community’s Admins.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will notify community Admins and, where appropriate, members. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, on an individual basis (not class actions).
